Nowadays it’s becoming more and more common for road accidents to take up the headline space in a daily newspaper. Many people lose their relatives or dear ones in car accidents. One should take some admonitory measures while driving the car on the roads to prevent major accidents. Some of the safety tips for safe driving are as follows:-

Car Condition: – The most important factor for safe car driving is the condition of the car. You must ensure that the condition of the car is good. For every car, there a servicing program is provided by the manufacturer. If you are not able to follow that program then get a checkup of your car from the nearest servicing center at regular intervals. It is unnecessary to drive and take life risks if your car is not in fine condition, even if you are going for a short drive or scheduling a long journey.

Seat Belt: – You must ensure that the passenger uses their seat belts and is well-tied at the same time. Especially pregnant women should use seat belts and airbags should also be there for enhanced safety. In case, the seat belts are short in size, extensions are available from the manufacturer.

Place your hands on the wheel: – Keep the right hand on the right part of the wheel diameter and another hand on the reverse side. This helps to keep better control over your car in case of sudden turns.

Keep your eyes on the road while driving: – It is necessary to be careful and focus on the road while driving as it reduces the chance of road accidents, especially in case of dreadful road conditions.

Keep away from doing anything – Many drivers have a bad habit of talking with passengers or their family members by looking back while driving. Some drivers also talk on mobile phones or smoke or eat while driving. Even if you are an excellent driver; you should pay attention while driving rather than doing something else.

Familiarity with the car: – The driver should know the car very well. There are certain conditions the driver should know, such as what pressure is needed to be applied at the brakes to slow down the car or make it stop at a particular distance.

One should be careful of blind spots in case of changing lanes.

Maintaining traffic rules is undoubtedly one of the precautions that are necessary to be followed while on road.

One should also be careful about the matter that a maximum accident occurs when the driver is drunk.
