Bing which was formerly called Live Search, Windows Live Search, and MSN Search, codenamed Kumo is Microsoft’s new web search engine, the search engine designed to compete with the industry leaders Google & Yahoo!
The search is live and in about two days there are already two wonderful scripts released by the community.
First Script is bing_cleaner, this script improves the Bing search results layout, the immediate difference you can see is that the left column ‘Related Searchs’ is moved to the right, and aligning search results on left. Following are the steps to install the script:
- Install Firefox, if you don’t have it already installed
- Install the Greasemonkey add-on for Firefox if you don’t have it already installed
- Click the “Install” button on the “bing_cleaner on Bing” page on userscripts.org.
The second and most wonderful script is a similar type of script to Twitter Search Results on Google. I have been using this script for quite some time and I feel it adds some more information to Google search results on pages. I was pleased to see a similar type of script for Twitter. Twitter Search Results on Bing provide not only web pages that have been indexed by Bing but also display relevant Twitter conversations that are currently happening on Twitter.
Get Twitter results on your Bing searches:
- Install Firefox, if you don’t have it already installed
- Install the Greasemonkey add-on for Firefox if you don’t have it already installed
- Click the “Install” button on the “Twitter Search Results on Bing” page on userscripts.org.
